Change Wind Direction + Stop the Snowfall

If I blogged as much as I thought about blogging, I’d be writing novels each day.

    But I obviously don’t.

I have a real problem getting things posted. I want posts to be witty and interesting and timely. But I put so much pressure on myself to do these things that I never get anything out of my head and into text and then settle for something mediocre and random once a week, if I’m lucky.

Its the story of my life, a thousand good ideas that I never follow through on.

    *sigh*

What if you just did it? I mean, that might sound obvious, but what if you managed to put your internal narrator on the shelf for a few minutes at a time (you know, the one that says “a post about toothpaste is lame”)? Then you could just slap down whatever is on your mind at the time and either edit it or not edit it because it really doesn’t matter.

I find that about one in 25 posts of mine is actually worth a damn. But that means I have to write 24 posts about toothpaste before I write something that is actually meaningful. So I write as much as possible in the hopes that I can get those bad posts out of the way so I can enjoy writing something worthwhile.

I’m sure you have thought all of this yourself, but I’m just saying…

Actually, Jeff, I thought the toothpaste post was one of your more inspired…I was rolling. =)

I mean laughing…not on drugs. It was funny in its own rite.

W - we have an acronym on this project JFDIN = “Just Fucking Do It, NOW!” =)

      Thanks, Jerry.

Well, Wendy? It’s Friday, and your public awaits. What are you thinking about?
