What I Did on the Rest of My Summer Vacation
Summer officially ended today. Le sigh.
It was good to me, so before I completely embrace college football (I did not see/hear the last game, therefore, I do not acknowledge that it happened.) and the decreasing temperatures, let me sum up the last month or so:
- My mom and I had a wonderful 2,500+ mile road trip to London and Toronto in Ontario and then to the Tanglewood Jazz Festival in Massachusettes. We visited the CN Tower and the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, and saw four Harry concerts along the way. I got a chance to see my good friends Tracy and Lisa, as well as other fellow Harry freaks, and see the end of Harry’s summer tour. There are pictures.
- The Iowa/Iowa State game was a glorious celebration of sport. I got a nice tan and we won.
- Needing to get one last music fix, mom and I traveled down to St. Louis to catch the Neal Caine Quartet, as well as visit our cousin Becky. We also visited the Missouri Botanical Gardens and the Anheuser-Busch Brewery.
- As a last note, I would highly recommend the Michelin North American 2004 Road Atlas for any of your map-reading needs or interests. I used to be a Rand MacNally girl, but no more.
So there ends my summer.
I need to get my oil changed. Again.

Wow…I’ve also been a Rand MacNally person…we’re almost due for a new Atlas so I’ll check it out.
You may have another opportunity to travel in the next few weeks…but you didn’t hear it from me. ;)
1. Why the Michelin Atlas?
2. How do you get your hair to grow so fast? It’s long again!
3. I wonder what Jerry knows…
Oil Chagned… Is that a metaphor?
If Jeff hadn’t said it, I would have. (Insert angry cat noise here)
