Friday Afternoon Update

Pierre Pierce got sentenced today to what will probably amount to him serving nearly a year in jail. Judge Gregory Hulse denied the request for a deferred judgment:

“To do so would seriously depreciate the seriousness of these offenses. The defendant is in need of correctional assistance, which can most effectively be provided by confinement,” Hulse said.

My photo gallery is now functionally mostly put together as I want it. I still need to do some style edits and little things, but its back and mostly happy. I should be posting new pictures soon. Beyond the cosmetic switch to G2, I’ve had some issues with the plugins that allow me to upload directly from iPhoto.

Finally, things that make me smile: I got my first post-Katrina Offbeat Weekly Beat newsletter in my email today. Which was a delight to see. And even better was that it contained the news that the Louisiana Music Factory would be reopening its doors on Monday!
