I can see the movie now.

    That is all.

Ok, I guess I could say a few more things. It is interesting to read a book knowing it is soon to be a movie and having seen a nice teaser trailer before reading it. It definitely colors my imaginative interpretation somewhat. Thinking of other big fantasy literary transitions to screen (Lord of the Rings or Harry Potter), The Chronicles seem the best suited in that they are fanastic, but they aren’t enormous. My hardbound copy of the entire The Chronicles of Narnia consisting of the seven books is the same size as the last book in the Harry Potter series, which is basically the same as my complete LOTR paperback as well. I’m eager to see how the moviemakers are able to translate The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe because it seems they won’t need to leave much out to get it in a two hour film. C.S. Lewis would describe major plot points with just a sentence or two. I found this simplicity refreshing. I realize it is a children’s book, but that doesn’t mean he left out details or did not describe things well. When a character died, there was no need to linger on it. I look forward to reading more tales after I see the film.
