Time to give George Lucas some more money
Star Wars: Episode IV | This September: Original Unaltered Trilogy on DVD
I know I’ll buy them, I’m not even going to pretend I won’t. While I was never morally opposed to the “special editions” as much as many people, the collector in me wants the versions I remember taping off tv and watching over and over and over.
How many copies of the Star Wars movies will I have now? Let’s count:
- Original Trilogy: VHS boxed set (pan & scan… gag)
- Special Edition Trilogy: VHS boxed set (widescreen)
- Episode I on VHS
- Special Edition Trilogy on DVD
- Episodes I-III on DVD
- and now the Original Trilogy on DVD
I was really pissed that they changed the ending to RotJ
Don’t even go there, I am also suppressing rage over that. First the Ewok celebration song, then the younger Anakin. I know it’s more accurate for the series as a whole, but it still irritated me, as I’ve seen the old version more times than I can count.
