I think it knew that I hated it

This morning as I was opening the curtains and blind in my bedroom so Mac wouldn’t spend her entire day in relative darkness, my mini-blind decided to commit suicide. I’ve seen my fair share of broken mini-blinds, but this was a new one. Somehow, the strings that attach into the top housing part at three points have come unattached at two of the three points, resulting in the blind basically falling down. Its lovely. I stared at it for awhile and can’t figure any way to get those strings back inside the top part of the blind mechanics. Meh. To be honest, I’ve wanted a different blind since I moved in last fall, this blind was just standard issue off-white aluminum and its keep-the-tiny-bits-of-light-out properties were lacking. Of course, now I’m completely obsessed with replacing it. But I have a feeling I’ll have to do a custom order to get the black privacy blind I want. At least JcPenney is having a home sale right now. I’m going home over lunch to measure the window and call around to see if anyone has one in stock that I can just get today. I hate when I get obsessive-compulsive about things like this, but really, all I can think about right now is that stupid blind and getting it replaced post-haste. Its probably also because I’m just not sleeping well and having light-leaks is extra irritating to me when I’m laying in bed tired, but unable to fall asleep. grrrrr.

home depot will cut blinds to the right width for you right in the store. you adjust the length at home. we have the wide fake wood kind and they are pretty nice and weren’t too expensive. more than mini blinds, but i think they look nicer.
