I just folded and turned on the heat in my apartment. It was 65 degrees when I got up this morning and it wasn’t that chilly post-shower. Mac has been looking extra fluffy the last couple of days. Earlier this week, it would be chilly in the morning but have warmed up by the time I got home. It was still 65 degrees when I got home tonight and Mac was huddled on her warming pad looking at me like she was being tortured in some way. So I gave in. Also, since I haven’t used the heat here before, I thought it was better to make sure the furnace did work before it was really cold. The newscasters are all excited telling us about a “killing freeze” coming this weekend. I can’t stand to suffer through any days with my living space in the lower 50’s like when the furnace went out in my old apartment a few years ago. I don’t mind chilly, but I don’t like to be freezing when I’m inside.
No more days

I’m still furnace free. I fear that may change this weekend however. It’s supposed to be cold, damp and rainy. Also I’m thinking I would like to turn it on while we are all home to make sure it’s all in working order. Gas makes me nervous. And…although I asked Mike a bazillion times in August and September to have the furnace cleaned …he never called to have it done. So now I live in fear of a dirty furnace.
