Mac has been extra odd the last week or so. She’s started out licking a brick from Kinnick that I use as a door stop. Which, weird. So I covered up the brick with a towel and she licked the towel. Then I moved the brick away and she licked the carpet where it had been. I vacuumed the spot. She kept licking. I put a plastic container down on the spot that was larger than the original brick. She then licked the carpet around the container. I put a cookie sheet on the floor to cover more space, her licking radius continued to move outward. Now she licks the floor in the living room.

She’s also changed her sleeping habits and doesn’t seem to sleep with me anymore at night. She’s slept on the pillow next to my head for the last three or four years. I keep trying to go find her in the night. She’s usually on the floor somewhere or in my office on the spare bed. She also isn’t sitting in her window perch anymore. So I’m getting worried that this is really the beginning of the end for her. Tonight she is listless and didn’t even go to her food dish when I got home. Something she always does. Which is extra odd since for the last week she’d seemed constantly hungry.

One eye seems watery, so maybe she just has a cold and feels off? I’m fighting the urge to take her to the emergency vet clinic. If I don’t have to spend another $100 on the emergency room, that would be best. She’s already scheduled to go to the vet on Wednesday next week for her vaccinations so I’m trying to hold off until then, but what if there is something really wrong with her and I should’ve taken her the day she started licking the brick??? I’d never forgive myself if she dies because I was being cheap.

I don’t know what to do. :(
