Monday Morning Mac Update
Mac spent another night at the emergency clinic. I spoke to the vet around 8:30 last night and he told me I could come get her if I wanted, but basically another night of monitoring wouldn’t hurt. I think he knew that I’d be freaked out and watching her all night anyway. I called this morning on my way to work and she hadn’t had anymore vomiting, but they’re having to syringe feed her because she won’t eat whatever they want her to eat. I’m waiting for the vet to call me again this morning to see when/if I can go get her.
I’m starting to prepare myself for the inevitable. :(
Update to the update: I spoke to the vet and they think she’s improving, though she still won’t eat on her own. But the vet thinks that what she needs now is for me to get her home into familiar surroundings. I’m going to go pick her up at 3pm and get all the care instructions from the vet.

So sorry Wendy. I know there is nothing anyone can say to make it easier. You gave Mac a wonderful life and she lived to a very old age! A true testament to your love and care of her. It’s never easy letting a pet go, but you’ll know if it’s time, you won’t want to see her suffer. (((hugs)))
Well said Lisa. Pets can bounce back well too, I have seen it many times. Mac is up there in years but we all know that Aunt or Uncle in their 90s that have many years left.
You will know when the time is right, the animal kind of tells you that it’s time for them to go, it makes it easier somehow. It’s a very hard thing to deal with but easier than watching them suffer. Hang in there and keep us updated.
I hope that by having her in familar surrounding she will start doing much better.
*hugs* I hope is that she will bounce back once she gets home in a familiar setting. Thinking of you.
