Her psychic powers are intact

Nov 27 2007 Published by Wendy under Baking, Cats

I got home from work in a panic ready to force feed my cat so she wouldn’t die and found her still on her bed in the office. But then she got up all on her own, walked to the kitchen, ate a bit, then went to her water bowl and drank for five minutes. Just like she knew what I was going to do if she didn’t eat and drink on her own. This obviously made me feel better. She seems a bit more lively (not that she’s ever very lively) tonight. Though later she did then go sit by her food dish and not eat, so I gave in and got 5cc’s of food/water puree down her throat with the syringe. I now have another hole in my finger from that battle. She took most of her meds without problems and drank some more water, though still not very much. Now she is napping on her heating pad. I’ll probably try to feed her one more time tonight before bed, but she’s hanging in there.

Thanks again for all the encouragement and concern!

All the worry is starting to affect the rest of my life though. I was making a yellow pound bundt cake tonight and I nearly burned it badly. Silly uneven oven temperatures. Though I suspect my co-workers will still manage to eat the whole thing tomorrow.

one of these things is not like the others

Can you spot which one just doesn’t quite belong?

one of these things

I made M&M cookies with the ‘limited edition’ mint chocolate M&M’s. The recipe I used said it made six dozen, but I was only able to scrape out four dozen, plus the giant cookie. There wasn’t enough dough left justify a big cookie sheet with only a couple of cookies, so I grabbed the smallest pan, which was a loaf pan and put the last bit of dough in there and tossed it in with the last batch.

Some cookies will go to work tomorrow, some will go to pre-football game festivities on Saturday, wherever I take part in them. Maybe if you’re lucky, you’ll get to try one.
