I have a sharp pain in the middle of myself. I’ve had it once or twice in the last few months and when I describe it to co-workers they tell me I have gas or I have heartburn, but I never have had anything offensive to eat that would seemingly cause that. All I’ve had to eat so far this morning is a bowl of Cheerios, a glass of orange juice, a handful of cashews, and a lot of water. The pain is basically from below my sternum, at my bra strap, to about two inches below. It doesn’t feel like a digestive problem, it doesn’t feel that internal. Whatever it is, it hurts a lot and I don’t like it. I have a doctor’s appointment next month, so I guess I’ll add it to the list of things to have her check out on me. But for the moment, I’m not sure what to do about it.

Today was a baby shower for Muiread Whitworth and my camera battery died before too long. The cuteness just drained the batteries. I have a fair amount of photos to share, but I have to clean out my iPhoto library before I can do much more photo work. Right now its around 30GB and its slowly sucking the life out of my Powerbook. But I will get them up on flickr soon, especially since I heard from several people this weekend who enjoy the flickr goodness.

The Cowboys beat the Redskins today in the only football game of the weekend that I am acknowledging.

It was a long day of football tailgating and sitting around. I nearly completely forgot to blog.

So this is all you get. I know it doesn’t really count, but its better than nothing at all.

My blog posting is starting to wane. I’ve got this giant post written in my head, it even has a clever title of Cats, Cars, and Crowe, but I just can’t seem to get it out tonight.

Instead, I suggest you listen to the new John Mayer song, ‘Say‘, because its awesome.

And for one last time this season: Go Hawks! Please? Just one more game to win and then we can go to a bowl game we don’t really deserve that probably won’t even be aired on a channel most of us can watch.

On Sunday, I’ll move on to basketball season. And wrestling. I did get a ticket for the Iowa v. OSU basketball game in Columbus in January when I’m there for training. Probably the only game I’ll get to see this year. Stupid cable companies and tv channels. *grumble*

Can you spot which one just doesn’t quite belong?

I made M&M cookies with the ‘limited edition’ mint chocolate M&M’s. The recipe I used said it made six dozen, but I was only able to scrape out four dozen, plus the giant cookie. There wasn’t enough dough left justify a big cookie sheet with only a couple of cookies, so I grabbed the smallest pan, which was a loaf pan and put the last bit of dough in there and tossed it in with the last batch.

Some cookies will go to work tomorrow, some will go to pre-football game festivities on Saturday, wherever I take part in them. Maybe if you’re lucky, you’ll get to try one.

Nothing like an epic movie about drug trafficking in 1970’s New York to satisfy my need to see a movie in the theaters. Added bonus of it being a $5 matinée. [Which I realize I should mention would be American Gangster.]

I will have real movie reviewer thoughts tomorrow. Now its like 8:30pm and I haven’t been home since 9am this morning. I need to eat something, watch Project Runway and get ready for tomorrow.

This week has been endless. I can’t believe its only Wednesday today.

and I need to blog and I don’t want to. I have nothing of interest to say.

My back hurts tonight. After I went to the chiropractor last night. So I’m all paranoid that she injured me in someway.

Tomorrow morning I take Mac to the vet to see what she’s dying of now. Joy.

I need to go to the movies. Its been over two months since I’ve been to the theater and I think its contributing to my mental state.

That’s really all I’ve got.

Off to watch Bones and House while they’re still on. Hollywood needs to pay the writers what they deserve so I have shows to watch come January. Though its not like I don’t have a backlog of movies that wouldn’t last me a year if I had no TV to watch.

I don’t have much to say today, so instead I’ll give you this very random photo that I found and scanned.

This is from a physics lab at Iowa in college. I don’t know what its measuring or what lab it was from. I took Physics I & II (with Calculus) in college because I was going to get a BS degree in comp sci instead of a BA (they offered both, the only difference was how many additional science classes you took), I got the BA instead, but still suffered through all the physics courses. Jeff, G-reg, and Frosty were either in one or both of the classes with me. The professor was this horrible waste of space who tortured us with multiple-choice exams where all your calculations meant nothing. The labs were fun, I remember that. I also remember studying and working on problem sets in some of the lecture rooms in what was then the new business building. They didn’t lock the rooms back then (all of ten years ago) but they did start shortly afterwards. Gee I wonder why.

Frictionless, massless planes. And ice skaters. Good times.

Today, I went to the new ginormous Menards and bought a carbon monoxide/gas detector. I woke up this morning, after a night of horrible dreams that paralyzed me with fear, and thought that maybe my cat and I were slowly being poisoned by my apartment. According to the detector, I am just crazy, but maybe I’ll sleep better tonight. Well, I know I’ll sleep better because I’ll just take some Ambien before bed. I’d rather not take the drugs, but when the alternative is frightening dreams all night, for now I’m taking the pill.

I also got a new blender that was on clearance. My old blender is the one I had had since college, and while it was fine functionally, it smells like burning when I use it. Which isn’t really what one looks for in a small appliance.

Finally, I tried to make pancakes for dinner tonight. Tried and failed. I don’t know why but I’m just terrible at making pancakes. I can bake so well, but I cannot get pancakes right. They’re either undercooked or burned. We won’t even speak of my attempts at french toast in the past.

It was kind of an odd day. I hope tomorrow is less weird.

Iowa beat Minnesota today and welcomed home Floyd of Rosedale to his proper home. I am just now warming up from the day. My mom was sick :( and didn’t make it to the game today so I sat with Doogie & Colleen who were making their return to tailgating and game-attending, post-baby. Fun times were had by all.

A Minnesota game wouldn’t be complete without BC.
